Straight answers before you spend a dime
Buying a used boat is mostly about the boats you don't buy. HullVet exists to help you rule out the wrong ones quickly, and walk up to the right one knowing what to ask.

How a report is made
An AI model reads the listing you send, using the checklists, model and engine notes and asking-price data from our Field Guide. Our own code then checks the price comparison against the data, so the verdict can't call a boat a bargain when the numbers say otherwise. Reports are a first pass on the listing, not a survey or valuation, and they can be wrong. Treat them as a well-informed second opinion.
Who's behind it
Hank is HullVet's founding host. He also presents Honest Boat Talk on YouTube, and he signs every report you get from us. As more presenters join the crew, you'll hear from them too.
Hank and the HullVet crew are AI-generated characters, and the people in our examples are fictional. HullVet itself is a small independent publisher based in Ireland. The research, price data and sources are real, and the books list every source.
What we don't do
- We don't take commissions from brokers, dealers, lenders or insurers.
- We don't contact sellers, and we never log into or scrape any marketplace: HullVet only reads what you give it.
- We don't sell your data.
